In Pursuit of a Dream to Screen in Utah

I'll be on the road this week to Cedar City, Utah, for a showing of In Pursuit of a Dream, the film I created with Boston Productions for the Oregon-California Trails Association. Anyone in the vicinity is invited to attend the showing at Sharwan Smith Center, Southern Utah University, 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23. Admission is $5 for adults; students admitted free. Quackgrass Sally will be there to join me in a Q&A following the film.

For those who don't know, the documentary follows a group of 24 young people who come from Boston, Denver, Sacramento, Texas, Wyoming, and Oregon to follow the Oregon Trail. They arrive in modern day, and then go back to the trail era (1843-1869) as they learn what it was like for the emigrants.

On Thursday and Friday morning, I'll be attending the National Board meeting of the Oregon-California Trails Association. Friday afternoon through Sunday a symposium will be held at the Chrystal Inn & Suites in Cedar City. It will include presentations on the Old Spanish Trail, travel on the trail through southern Utah to California, Mountain Meadows, and other trail sites in the area.

There is a tour along the Old Spanish Trail on Saturday, March 26.

It is not too late to attend. Visit www.octa-trails.org for more info.

See you on the trail.
