In Pursuit of a Dream to Screen in Utah

I'll be on the road this week to Cedar City, Utah, for a showing of In Pursuit of a Dream, the film I created with Boston Productions for the Oregon-California Trails Association. Anyone in the vicinity is invited to attend the showing at Sharwan Smith Center, Southern Utah University, 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23. Admission is $5 for adults; students admitted free. Quackgrass Sally will be there to join me in a Q&A following the film.

For those who don't know, the documentary follows a group of 24 young people who come from Boston, Denver, Sacramento, Texas, Wyoming, and Oregon to follow the Oregon Trail. They arrive in modern day, and then go back to the trail era (1843-1869) as they learn what it was like for the emigrants.

On Thursday and Friday morning, I'll be attending the National Board meeting of the Oregon-California Trails Association. Friday afternoon through Sunday a symposium will be held at the Chrystal Inn & Suites in Cedar City. It will include presentations on the Old Spanish Trail, travel on the trail through southern Utah to California, Mountain Meadows, and other trail sites in the area.

There is a tour along the Old Spanish Trail on Saturday, March 26.

It is not too late to attend. Visit www.octa-trails.org for more info.

See you on the trail.

Back to Blogging

It has been a while since I've blogged....but hey, I have nothing to do between midnight and 2 a.m. so I'm going to give this a whirl again.

If you follow me you never know where you might go, who you might meet, what you might do.
I intend to take you along on some of my road trips across the West, introduce you to some of my friends and authors, give you an inside look at editing the Western Writers of America Roundup Magazine, or researching my next book or media topic.

So hop on with me and let's see what kind of adventures await.
